Metal Shops, Camels and Socks - Business as Mission in Mongolia

Posted by Anthony Adams on

Last month Anthony Adams, Radstock's UK Director, had the opportunity to visit churches in Mongolia.  Along with Paul Williams, Radstock's Eurasia Director and the founder of Radstock's partner organization Seedtime, Anthony saw first-hand how God is on the move.

Here is an exerpt from his travel journal...

Oct 2

This afternoon we flew to South Gobi Province, where I currently sit in the ger that the late Pastor Natdsagdorj and his wife lived in for 30 years, and started their church in. [Pastor Natdsagdorg died tragically in a car accident last year and his legacy has been continued by the churches who are now pastored by his son.]

Sixteen churches have been planted from this one including an underground church in a restricted country.  We met a couple of people who have had business loans from Seedtime and saw something of their wares… clothes and socks in one case, and in the other case, metal work where they make a large number of small square metal signs for an international mining company working in the area [photo].  Another Gobi business has 300 camels on "staff."

Its really happening here. Seedtime headed by Paul is delivering business training and God is working!  Christians are generating income for themselves and their families and churches.

Mongolia, South Gobi Loan TeamAfter feasting on some goat wrapped in deep fried pastry, Paul met with his part time loan team administrator down here, and Turbadrakh [center in photo] from Ulaanbaatar [Mongolia's capital] who has flown down with us and is translating for us. The loan team is made up of Davaa (Natsagdorj’s widow), Batchuluun [left in photo], and one other faithful lady.  So far they have a near 100% success rate with Seedtime's loan fund.  Praise God for providing for his people!
