Gathering For Rest, Refreshment & Refocus

In the busyness of ministry; time to rest, be refreshed, and refocus is much-needed and often-neglected. Last month it was a privilege to gather together a number of brothers who serve Jesus in a particularly difficult part of the world. They face hostility and their lives have been threatened, but their courage and faith in Christ is an inspiration. They are tired. They feel isolated at times, and communicating with friends across the world is not always easy.

For all these reasons it was a joy for a number of us from churches in the UK and the USA to gather and spend time with these believers. We were eating together, laughing together, hearing from God's word together. We also spent significant time praying together. It was a very precious time.

Thank you to those who prayed and those who gave financially to help make the trip happen. Our friends were able to speak freely about their families, the challenges of their work, and the things they would like to see happen in the future. We also discussed ways of using technology to minister more effectively, especially in remote regions, and new friendships and partnerships were established.
