Transport and Training for Church Planters

Posted by Anthony Adams on

We previously shared one ministry opportunity open to the Radstock network  -- serving the church in Myanmar through helping our brothers and sisters there to care for orphans. You can read about that here. Now we would like to invite you to pray about and consider long term involvement in another ministry opportunity in this beautiful and needy country.

Radstock churches are invited to partner with Myanmar believers in the equipping of church planters. These brave people are at the cutting edge of the growth of the kingdom of God in this country of so many languages, tribes and ethnic groups.

Some of you responded earlier in the year to our request for help equipping planters from the mountain regions of Chin State with motorbikes. I regularly receive contact from the group of planters up there who are making good use of those bikes as they travel out on mission together; thank you for giving! There is a need for something similar in the Yangon region. Three planters in particular would have their ministry greatly enhanced by being able to get around on motorbikes, bought from China for approximately $600/£450.

Spiritual needs are also real: church planters in Myanmar need training. There is a desire for some specific intense training for a group of 35 leaders from across the region during a 3 day conference in January, 2017. We want to invest in this both in terms of providing some of the training and providing financial support to make the event happen. We would like to raise $1000/£750 towards the cost of this. Those funds would be used to support travel for the delegates as well as the cost to hire a venue for the event.

Please let us know if you can help in any way. Would you particularly consider connecting with some of these projects for the long term? Long-term, lasting partnerships between churches connected for mission is so important for the health of these fledgling churches and pastors. Can you imagine the country of Myanmar full of churches proclaiming the kingdom of God and seeking to bring his blessing to the many tongues in their own land?

Your partnership in ongoing prayer for the impact of the gospel in this place is essential. Please do pray with us for Myanmar, and contact us to find out how you can participate in this work.
